When thinking about sound projects I tend to think about movie soundtracks because they can create emotion through sound without using words. I think it would be super fun to take these found sounds and try and build a space-like theme with it. I thought a lot about movies like Interstellar and 2001 A Space Odyssey when coming up with this idea. Maybe because I watched Interstellar a few days ago. I want there to be a lot of action in the beginning and end of the composition and really be jarring in the sense that a takeoff and landing are. In the middle I want to have almost two parts of calmness as if you were floating through space. I'm thinking that I am going to need to use a lot of effects on these sounds to get them to sound weird and abstract instead of just sounding exactly like whatever the sound is. I’m also afraid that it will be very easy to do too much with this and so I want to make sure that I pull back a little and make the composition simpler at times. I think it will be pretty challenging to find sounds that fit well together and don’t sound extremely out of place so I am a little worried about that. I think with enough effects I can get some pretty crazy sounds to really make you feel like you could be in an alien spaceship traveling across space and time.
