About The Artist
Hello, my name is Jacob Ivener and I would describe myself as an art hobbyist. I was fascinated by art as a kid and would spend a lot of my time creating different forms of art from paintings to pottery. But as I got older other priorities arised and I stopped creating art for a few years. In the last four years or so, I have tried to get back to being creative and producing works of art again. I discovered the world of graphic design through streetwear and fell in love with the idea of being able to draw cleaner designs on my computer. As someone who designs with pencil it’s been a goal of mine to practice graphic design and explore the medium. I have worked a lot with drawing and I take a lot of inspiration from the world around me. My approach to most art is to take things around me and transform the details into something original. Simple and clean art has always been more appealing to me and you can see that in the way I approach creating art. I tend to create art based on my emotions and communicate an emotion in a symbolic way. For me, I create my best art when I am feeling intense emotion that can drive what I create. I take a lot of inspiration from contemporary artists like Takashi Murakami and KAWS as well as fashion designers like Virgil Abloh and Tinker Hatfield. I really enjoy how they all create art that is not only about culture but influences culture.
